Well, here we go! The idea to begin a blog has been a thought for me quite some time. I enjoy reading 'my blogs', as I say to my husband, fairly frequently and I have been looking for an enjoyable way to fill my time when my little one goes to bed early, leaving my nights wide open. I hope to use this blog as a way to document this time with my family, what we do in a day, the places we go, the things that we eat, whatever feels important at that moment in time. I hope that you enjoy reading about our life as much as I love living it!

He is getting to an age where I think he will love small world play, and I was so excited when I found the Toob Farm animal set at Michael's! Skyler loves the book Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown and this fun sensory activity was a great way to provide Skyler with a hands on activity based on the book he enjoys so much! I spread our green St. Paddy's Day Dough on half of a cookie sheet, and filled the other half with coffee grounds to make grass and mud, and then all I needed was our big red barn. I looked for images of a barn, and loved this one from Learn Create Love . I didn't use the printable, I just looked at the image and drew it, but the printable is a great option! A Chubby Little Snowman

I have posted pictures and another craft inspired by the wonderful program we are in. This week we had a pajama day, and Skyler was so thrilled to be in class he could hardly decide what he wanted to do - so much to choose from! He ended up going down the slide a lot, putting "Pom poms!!!" in a muffin tin and through paper towel rolls, and trying out the easel for the first time! They also had play dough with rolling pins and chalk/construction paper to experiment with. It is a favorite time of the week for both of us! We start the class with thirty minutes of play time/parent interaction and then do a fifteen minute circle time with songs and rhymes before we leave the room for the separation and parent education half of the class! Craft and Activity Roundup for Valentine's Day

I thought it would be fun to do a roundup post of our Valentine crafts and activities as well as some of my favorites from other blogs. These are the Valentine themed crafts and activities we did this year, for last minute ideas or to keep in mind - or pin - for next year! Skyler loved painting with yarn which I framed with festive heart doilies to create our sun catchers . This simple dyed rice sensory bin was completed with heart sequins that are very fun to search for, and some recycled egg cartons that Skyler enjoyed decorating with heart stickers. We made this simple canvas with potato stamps and a lot of glitter. For our second canvas, Skyler made little hearts out of his hands and feet and I wrote a Valentine to my little Valentine that could easy be modified for a parent or teacher gift....
