A Full Weekend (and Heart)

Minne-Mama is on Facebook! 'Like' us to stay updated on our fun crafts and activities! Thank you for stopping by! Even with Joe gone, Skyler and I had a very full and fun weekend just playing at home with the two of us, seeing many of our friends, and spending a lot of time with family. It was the perfect way to keep my hubby-missing self occupied! This was actually before the weekend, but we braved the kid play structure at the mall on Thursday morning to have a play date with Skyler's newest friend. Even though they only recently started playing together, this was our third play date, Skyler always asks when he will see "Jack?" now. I love seeing him truly interact with other children at this age and ask about his little buddies all the time! I was hoping the mall would be a good meeting place for us to let the little one's burn off some energy, but it was absolutely crazy, so we are back to trying to find a good place between us to have the little's pla...

Celebrating My Little Love

Minne-Mama is on Facebook! 'Like' us to stay updated on our fun crafts and activities! Thank you for stopping by! Happy Valentines Day! Before I had Skyler, I didn't care much for Valentine's Day. Joe and I always celebrated in some way, going out for dinner or making a nice dinner, but I never really liked focusing one day on showing those close to you that you love them. Our finished Valentine shelf got some pretty fresh flowers and that cute heart is framing Skyler's little feet from last year! Since Skyler was born, I feel a little different about it. Obviously, I shower him with my love every single day, but I have enjoyed doing crafts and activities with him focused on love and covered in hearts. I enjoy making Valentine's for Skyler to give his grandparents, teachers, little friends, and for their parents that I have grown close to, to show them all how much we love and appreciate them. I just feel differently about a day dedicated to love. Especially thi...

Craft and Activity Roundup for Valentine's Day

Minne-Mama is on Facebook! 'Like' us to stay updated on our fun crafts and activities! Thank you for stopping by! I cannot believe that tomorrow is already Valentine's Day! I thought it would be fun to do a roundup post of our Valentine crafts and activities as well as some of my favorites from other blogs. These are the Valentine themed crafts and activities we did this year, for last minute ideas or to keep in mind - or pin - for next year! Skyler loved painting with yarn which I framed with festive heart doilies to create our sun catchers . This simple dyed rice sensory bin was completed with heart sequins that are very fun to search for, and some recycled egg cartons that Skyler enjoyed decorating with heart stickers. We made this simple canvas with potato stamps and a lot of glitter. For our second canvas, Skyler made little hearts out of his hands and feet and I wrote a Valentine to my little Valentine that could easy be modified for a parent or teacher gift....

Valentine Peek-A-Boo Play Dough

Image
Minne-Mama is on Facebook! 'Like' us to stay updated on our fun crafts and activities! Thank you for stopping by! I have a confession: Before yesterday, I had never done play dough with Skyler. I always wanted to make play dough with him, and for one reason or another, we never did. My sensory board on Pinterest is chock-full of various play dough recipes and yet my poor toddler has been deprived of the amazing fun that is play dough. I felt like such a bad mama! I have been planning on making this glittery pink play dough for Valentine's Day. I went out and bought all of the ingredients we needed several weeks ago, and the day we were going to make it we ran out of our red food coloring when we played with baking soda and vinegar, so I put it off again. We had so much fun making and playing with this play dough yesterday, and I know this new-for-Skyler sensory activity is going to be requested in our home often! We made the Best Ever No Cook Play Dough Recipe from The Ima...
